What makes you worry while traveling in an elevator?
Fear of getting stuck in an elevator. Fear of free fall . Power supply failure. Not stopping at the desired floor. Not opening the door on the floor after stopping
These situations make a person worried while using an elevator- but, there is no need to worry.
One must know about the safety provisions and travel precautions for Elevator travel.
- If you are stuck in an elevator, do not panic. Use an alarm bell or intercom or personal mobile to call for outside help.
- You are safe inside the elevator as long as you follow safety norms.
- In case of free fall,if the cabin downward speed increases by 15% above the rated speed, the overspeed governor will act and hold the cabin from falling down.
- Hold the hand rail provided in the cabin during free fall.
- In case of power failure, an auto rescue device will operate and bring the elevator to the nearest floor level.
- May not stop at the desired floor. There can be several reasons. Don't panic, come out on the next floor and register a complaint with the service provider.
- In case the door is not opening at the landing, press the door open.
Elevators, properly maintained, are safe to use. And, knowledge about these safety features will ensure Thanekars don’t have to worry while using elevators !
