The remarkable performance of Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority in recent years has set a new benchmark for regulatory efficiency in India’s real estate sector. In 2025 alone, MahaRERA resolved an impressive 6,945 complaints, reflecting a sharp rise in its ability to deliver timely justice to homebuyers and property owners.

This transformation has been driven under the leadership of President Manoj Saunik, along with key members Mahesh Pathak and Ravindra Deshpande. Their collective efforts have strengthened the institution’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and consumer protection.

Since its inception in 2017, MahaRERA has registered over 23,000 complaints, out of which around 14,000 were resolved over the years. Earlier, the resolution rate hovered between 50% and 60%, indicating moderate progress. However, the last two years have marked a significant turnaround. In 2024 and 2025 combined, approximately 10,000 new complaints were filed, but more than 13,000 cases were resolved during the same period—an extraordinary achievement reflecting over 130% resolution efficiency.

This surge in performance demonstrates MahaRERA’s proactive approach and improved mechanisms for dispute resolution. More importantly, it reinforces confidence among homebuyers, assuring them that their grievances will be addressed effectively. At a time when trust is crucial in the real estate market, such progress plays a vital role in encouraging investment and participation.
