How would you rate Thane's overall quality of life compared to your previous city?
Overall, I would rate the quality of the here as significantly higher than my previous city. The biggest improvement is the work-life balance - my commute is only 20 minutes compared to an hour before. Additionally, the access to green spaces & parks is much better, which has improved my physical health.
What do you love most about Thane so far?
I love Thane for its blend of green spaces lakes, hills, cultural vibrancy excellent connectivity to Mumbai, & rapid modernisation with great amenities , offering a balanced lifestyle from nature spots life Upvan Lake and Yeoor Hills, Malls and Restaurants, making it feel like a City of Reality with growing luxury and convenience.
How's the connectivity (transport, roads, metro) in Thane?
Thane’s connectivity is rapidly improving, boasting strong road links eastern express highway, Ghodbunder Road, existing suburban rail and extensive new projects set to integrate seamlessly by 2030.
Have you explored Thane's green spaces (parks, lakes, etc.)? Your thoughts?
Thane has some wonderful green pockets, offering a great escape from city life! Like butterfly garden, tikuji ni wadi, local parks and lakes etc.
How's the cost of living in Thane compared to your previous city?
Thane is significantly cheaper for housing, I can’t get a much larger, newer apartment with better amenities. For the same rent I was paying for a smaller, older place in Mumbai.
What amenities are you most happy to have nearby (schools, hospitals, shopping, etc.)?
We are happy with safety, healthcare, education and convenience, transport etc.
Any favorite local spots or hidden gems you've discovered?
Thane is hidden gems, highlights spots the Overlekar Wadi Butterfly Garden, Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary, historical Ghodbundar Fort, trekking spots like Yeoor Hills and Mahuli Fort and serene lakes like Upvan and Talao Pali etc.
Would you recommend Thane to others looking to relocate? Why?
Yes, Thane is often recommended for relocation due to its connectivity, developed infrastructure and affordability as compared to Mumbai.
Any tips for newcomers to Thane?
For newcomers to Thane, focus on leveraging its great connectivity to Mumbai, exploring the “City of Lakes” for green spaces, embracing the diverse food scene especially street food like Vada Pav, using local transport apps and learning basic Marathi to blend in, while enjoying its modern amenities and cultural spots like Upvan Lake and Ghodbundar Fort, all while noting Thane’s evolving, vibrant lifestyle.
